The creationist poetry of Juan Larrea
Abstract
This article describes the relationship between Vicente Huidobro's and Juan Larrea's poetry and argues that the Spaniard can be considered a Creationist poet. In light of this contention, three essential poems from his book Versión celeste (Celestial Version) as well as fragments of his long poem "Cosmopolitano" (Cosmopolitan) are analyzed. The conclusion is reached that avant-garde poetic writing meant for Larrea the first step toward a personal search that extended to the realms of mysticism, philosophy and aesthetic meditation.
