Abstract

Rosa de tierra marks a watershed moment in the literary history of the Dominican Republic for it introduces a non-representational poetics into Dominican letters. I argue that the poet evokes Vicente Huidobro in the first transcription of "Rosa de Tierra ", an act I read as a performance because it belies the author curious strategy of establishing legitimacy by equating himself in terms of literary innovation, to the great Chilean poet
