This article analyzes the fragment 36 of La Hora de todos y la Fortuna con seso, by Francisco de Quevedo. It narrates the encounter and dialogue between a Dutch captain and the Chilean Indians. Quevedo attacks the Dutchs who tried to become allies of the Chilean Indians in order to expel the Spaniards from America. The importance of this fragment relies in the fact that Quevedo criticizes the Dutch through the voice of the Chilean Indian, accusing the European of disobedience and treason to the King of Spain. He also censors the conquest of America from the point of view of Christian morality.
