Conform to the proposed plan, in this Serie, we introduce Colonel José Rodriguez de Ballesteros, according to this persona lity and action. He is a spaniord militar, author of the "Revista a la Revolución de Chile", a forgotten book that in spite of its tirle, has included an interesting geographical repon whose datUms and details, specioly on Chiloé archipelago deserv to have in mind by the research people. This work was drawed up during the fust half of the XIX century, and is the first attempt to work out a physical-Political Chilean Geography, according to the european scientific postulates.
